Authorities mentioned they were contacted by a individual who found a vehicle in Hanau marked with red-colored liquid

Approximately fifty vehicles have been marked with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.

Officers report they were notified during the night on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.

The fluid had been placed in the shape of a swastika, they stated.

Law enforcement then located many other marked cars and house walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under laws banning the public display of Nazi symbols.

Police say initial examinations indicate the fluid was most likely human blood.

"At present there remains no clue as to where it came from; authorities are presently not informed of any injuries in connection with the event," they commented.

Municipal representatives said they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the community for tips.

An important representative stated the attack made him without words and required to be addressed quickly.

"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the trauma of the right-wing violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on online, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a shooter targeting individuals of foreign heritage in February 2020.
